Panel: What is the Role of the Bible in Quaker Religious Education?
There are many ways to teach the Bible in a Quaker context. We will come together to share ideas and ask questions of each other. What best describes the approaches you have used?
Emerging Work
We will share about the emerging work we do on Friday evening. Are you interested in sharing something about the Quaker religious education work that you do? If so, please briefly describe the program or initiative below. We will contact you to confirm this.
Are you interested in sharing your gifts with others through giving a workshop on Saturday? If so, we ask you to please suggest a workshop by providing a title and description below. We will contact you to confirm your workshop. Workshops will last 75 minutes. Handouts and takeaways are to be provided by the leader. Workshops might include some of the following: • Interactive activities • Movement • Small group work • Hands-on participation • Sharing of skills and experience • At least one new tool or knowledge base that can be practiced upon returning home.
Resource Sharing
There will be tables set up for Friends to share resources and displays. Please bring your favorite books, curricula, activities, etc. to share. Bring copies of any handouts you would like Friends to take with them, and clearly mark where to find resources you can’t give away.
Interest Groups
Interests Groups will be meeting on Saturday and Sunday. Topics include Outreach, Building the QREC Website, Undoing Racism and much more.
